Remembering & Honoring Bishop Theophilus Archer
Bishop Theophilus Archer finished his earthly race and entered into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 29, 2026. He was 96 years old. He was a father of many and a friend to everyone. Bishop Theophilus Archer was a living epistle – an inspiring community leader, a visionary builder, an astute businessman, and a shepherd to countless souls. An erudite scholar of the bible, he shared wisdom that guided life-defining decisions for many.
Beyond his many professional and spiritual accomplishments, Bishop Theophilus Archer was a dedicated husband and a devoted father. His time on earth was defined by faithful service to Christ, community, and country. He touched lives deeply, and his legacy endures in the hearts and memories of his family and all who walked alongside him.

An Evening of Tributes
Starting promptly at 6pm, for five hours until 11pm, there will be a session of worship, personal and group tributes.
If you wish to give a tribute, let us know by latest May 28.
Saturday, May 30, 2026
Bishop Archer will lie-in-state for one hour from 9:45am. Service begins promptly thereafter at 11am.

There will be no traveling for burial. Bishop Archer will be laid to rest on the church grounds. The repass will begin at the end of the committal.

To those precious relatives, friends and saints that traveled internationally and locally to be present with us to celebrate his life and legacy, your presence warmed our hearts and your love gave us strength. Thank you.

To our former Western District church family —the bus load from St James, others from Trelawny Westmoreland, Hanover, St. Elizabeth, your support deserves special mention. Bishop Archer held you close, and the camaraderie between Black River and the other western churches, was exceptional. Thank you.
Thank you all for your support, your prayers, and for sharing in our grief. We are grateful. May God bless you always.
